Good system, slow setup

I ordered the Home Medical Alert System for my mom last month. The equipment itself seems really solid, and the 24/7 monitoring service gives me some peace of mind. The price was fair for what you get, especially with the annual plan savings. My main issue was the setup; it took a bit longer than I expected to get everything activated and running smoothly. Customer service was helpful when I called, but it would be great if the initial process was a bit more streamlined. Overall, it's a good product.

Easy to use, good product

I bought the Medical Alert Wristband for my dad. It was super easy to set up and he wears it all the time. Makes me feel better knowing he has it. Arrived pretty quick too.

So happy with Medihill!

I got the Mobile LTE Alert System for myself and I love it! The automatic fall detection sensor works, I accidentally triggered it once and they called me right away. It's so reassuring to know that someone is there if I need them. The device is easy to carry and the battery lasts a good while. I am definitely going to recommend Medihill to all my friends!

what if this isn't right for my grandpa? can you return the equipment easily or is it a huge hassle?

K Kevin Okafor 2 months ago
Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month. Just follow their instructions on the website, I think you mail it back.

You usually just send it back within a certain timeframe if you cancel or if it's not working out. Just make sure to check their exact policy, but generally pretty straightforward for the equipment.

hey, trying to figure out which system to get for my grandma. is medihill actually good or should I just go with Life Alert? saw both mentioned somewhere.

J Julia Kim 1 month ago
I looked into this for my dad. Medihill seems pretty legit, they have fall detection which I heard is good. Life Alert is super old school, Medihill feels more modern to me.

Medihill has 24/7 monitoring centers, and their mobile GPS units mean she can use it outside the house. Life Alert is kinda limited in comparison, afaik.

thinking about getting one of these for my mom. do they often have sales or discount codes? trying to save a bit if I can.

L Lisa 2 months ago
Yeah, they do! I got a free activation fee last year around November. They often have seasonal stuff or waive activation fees. Sometimes you just gotta ask.

I think they also do AARP discounts or military discounts. And if you pay for a whole year upfront, you usually save a bit more compared to monthly.

how long does it take for these things to actually arrive? I'm in Phoenix and need it pretty soon for my dad.

A Anna Silva 1 month ago
Mine got here in about a week to two weeks, but I'm on the east coast. Probably depends on the shipping method you pick. They usually ship pretty quick though.

I'd say a week or so is a safe bet for most places. If you're super worried, maybe call them after you order to get a tracking number right away.

does the fall detection really work well? seems like a super important feature but I'm skeptical.

P Paula Vargas 2 months ago
My mom has it and it's worked a couple of times when she's slipped. It's not 100% perfect, nothing is, but it's pretty reliable. Gives me peace of mind.

Yeah, it uses some kind of sensor tech. It's designed to detect sudden changes in movement and impact. It's definitely one of their main selling points.
